Mariah Brielle Obituary, Death - Knoxville Woman Dies After East Hill Avenue Shooting

Mariah Brielle died following an early-morning shooting on East Hill Avenue in Knoxville, Tennessee, on Saturday, September 19, 2026. Her sudden death has left family, friends, and loved ones mourning her loss.

According to the Knoxville Police Department, officers responded to 411 East Hill Avenue at approximately 5:30 a.m. after receiving a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found two women and one man suffering from gunshot wounds.

Mariah was transported to Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center for treatment, where she later died from her injuries.

The other woman and man survived the shooting with injuries described as non-life-threatening. They were treated and later released from UT Medical Center.

Investigators identified 45-year-old Lerisha Williams as a suspect in the shooting that resulted in Mariah’s death. Williams was arrested and faces a reckless homicide charge along with additional weapons-related charges.

Police also identified 22-year-old Quinshayla Williams as the person accused of shooting the surviving woman and man. She was charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and additional weapons charges.

The investigation remains part of the legal process, and the allegations against the accused individuals have not been adjudicated.

Friends remembered Mariah with affection following her death. Those closest to her are now holding onto the memories, conversations, and moments they shared with her as they cope with the loss.
